Clean your coffee machine regularly. We explain how and why. Brewing coffee means extracting lots of delicious flavors from roasted coffee, but it also creates a lot of oil residue that can build up over time. On top of that, minerals in your water supply can leave behind an unsightly coating. We therefore recommend that you descale your machine every 3-4 weeks. You can also find tips on how to clean your coffee maker with vinegar below.
- Add 2 tsp of Ratio Wash to the water tank and fill with cold water. This process should be done once a month to keep the glass tank and lines free of minerals or deposits.
2. Once the brew cycle is complete, leave the cleaner in the jug for 20-30 minutes. Before rinsing out the pot, you can wash it with a dish brush to get the container extra clean and nice.
3. Run 2 more full brew cycles with clean cold water to rinse thoroughly and remove any residual detergent.
To prevent coffee oils from getting into the water tank:
Completely avoid using the Ratio jug to fill the tank with water

After use, wash out the jug with a drop of washing-up liquid and warm water.
4. Maintain the fine finish of the coffee machine by wiping it down as needed with the microfiber cloth that came with the machine. Remove moisture and coffee stains from the top, base and around the shower head.
